State Team Evaluation Camp | DESCRIPTION

True Lacrosse is excited to announce our State Team Evaluation Camp for the 2021-2022 season! This camp is intended to bring together players who feel they are ready to compete at a higher level. They'll be coached and evaluated by True Lacrosse coaches and directors for the chance to play for our State Teams, our most competitive program available in the state for year-round training.

Our State Teams are ranked #1 in the Midwest, and a top 10 program in the nation.


True Lacrosse State Teams are intended to showcase the most talented players in Illinois. We seek players who personify our high athletic, academic, and personal standards while excelling as a teammate. To ensure these players will be able to perform against the country's top talent, our State Teams participate in the nation's most competitive tournaments.

The True Lacrosse State Teams are designed to get players to the next competitive level. Those who are selected for one of these teams will play with intensity unmatched by any other lacrosse club and coached by the best coaches in Illinois.

True Leadership

True Lacrosse has established itself as the leader in training and developing lacrosse players across the state. Our strong and steadfast leadership has been unwavering in guiding the program based on our core values and disciplined approach to training top athletes.

Professionalism, experience, and consistency are at the heart of our leadership. What our founders, Jake Deane and Mike Gabel, started has been nurtured and developed by their commitment to excellence, and by finding other experts to help lead the program as it grows.

With the addition of Kylor Berkman and Devin Cruz to the Illinois management staff, True Lacrosse has been able to extend its reach while maintaining the highest quality training. From training coaches and directors to working with players on the field, our leadership team is hands-on in ensuring every player, parent, coach, and director is getting the complete and comprehensive True Lacrosse experience.

Kylor Berkman (General Manager)

  • Achieved a record of 113-28 as head men’s lacrosse coach at Aurora

  • Led the Spartans to six consecutive Midwest Lacrosse Conference Championships and four NCAA Sweet 16 Tournament appearances
  • Coached 72 All Conference players and eight All Americans
  • Finalist for Division III Coach of the Year (2015)
  • James “Ace” Adams Sportsmanship Award Winner (2014)
  • Earned his MBA with a focus in leadership, bachelor’s degree in business management with a minor in coaching at Salisbury University
