Coach Marissa Shannon

Coach Shannon played Division III lacrosse at Kenyon College where she graduated in 2013. During her time at Kenyon College, the team was NCAC Conference Champions in 2013. The team also played in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2013 and the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2010. Marissa was captain of her team for the 2012 and 2013 seasons and earned First Team All NCAC in 2013. After Kenyon, Marissa went on to earn her Masters in Teaching at Dominican University in 2014. She is currently teaching 7th grade science for Chicago Public Schools.  Marissa is currently the head coach at Walter Payton College Prep where she began the lacrosse program in 2017.  In the 2019 season, Payton placed second in the Chicago Public Schools city lacrosse championship.

Coach Marlee Galper

Coach Marlee joins us from California, where she started playing and coaching lacrosse in high school. She continued on to play for Emerson College and Team Israel before heading back to Los Angeles to coach for Chaminade College Prep School, Team Scream lacrosse club, and LA Lacrosse League. Marlee moved to Chicago in 2016 for graduate school and is now a Speech-Language Pathologist for CPS. Marlee appreciates lacrosse as a holistic sport, as it develops a growth mindset and leadership qualities, along with athleticism, for all ladies who step up to the sport.

Coach Sonia Wang

Coach Sonia played midfield (draw specialist) at Chantilly HS in Virginia where she was named captain, led her team to the Virginia AAA state semifinals, earned first team all-district honors, second team all-region honors, and finished her senior year as the All-Met (The Washington Post) 45th leading goal scorer in the D.C. metropolitan area. After graduating, Sonia attended the University of Virginia where she played club lacrosse and helped lead the team to their first regional championship. At UVA, the team won four consecutive regional championships, earned four national bids, and finished ranked in the top 20 each year. Sonia coaches with the CPS Summer League, Lakeshore Lacrosse,  True Lacrosse, LiL' Ballers Lacrosse, and is the assistant coach at Walter Payton High School. Outside of lacrosse, Sonia co-owns an ecological economic consulting firm that primarily works with conservation organizations.
