Rip the Duck – Mid-Season Youth Tournament

Thank you to all our parents, players, and coaches who came out the 2013 Rip the Duck Tournament. The tournament hosted 100 teams this year from all over including Texas, Minnesota, Pittsburg, Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois,  Kentucky, and of course Indiana.  Some great lacrosse was displayed on the fields and many brackets came out as nail biters!  The enthusiasm and a positive sportsmanship shown by the teams helped make the weekend successful and enjoyable.  We are looking forward to hosting everyone next year!

Helpful Weather Tips

  • Newspaper!  I learned this trick last year as I was amazed at how dry the gloves and shoes were after stuffing them with newspaper Saturday night.
  • Garbage bags!  To either try to keep your player's gear bag dry (as possible on the field) or at a minimum protect your vehicle from all that will be wet and muddy.
  • Extra socks!  While they may not stay dry for long once you're player is out on the field, they'll feel great to change into when they are done - given our first game is at 8:00 and our last at 3:30 dry feet are important inbetween games.
  • Towels, towels and more towels!  I love using beach towels as I lived in my car when the team wasn't playing last year. Whether you're drying off your player, yourself or protecting your seats and floormats, the fields well.....are fields and it certain areas got pretty muddy last year.
  • OK, I know this next one is odd but stick some tissues or toilet paper in your driest pocket.  Last year I think folks were looking for anything absorbent they could get their hands on and all of the port-o-lets ran out of toliet paper early.  I'll say no more.
