True Lacrosse
Speed and Agility Coach:
Tony Dieppa

True Lacrosse is excited to welcome Tony Dieppa to the staff as our new full-time strength and conditioning coach. Tony brings a wealth of experience in preparing athletes to perform their best and maintain excellent physical condition.

Tony joins True Lacrosse after working at the University of Connecticut for the last three years as an assistant strength and conditioning coach, working primarily with the football team, where he helped with everything from developing training and nutrition plans for players, to working with athletic trainers to create individual preventive injury screening plans for each football player. He gained vast experience in high intensity training principles, conjugate training principles, and powerlifting techniques.

Prior to UConn, Tony worked at Florida International University where he worked with the football, women’s swimming and diving, and men’s and women’s soccer teams in the fall of 2013. He was a summer intern for the Mississippi State University football team in summer 2013.

During the spring of 2013, Tony served as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at Northwestern State University, where he worked with the football, men’s and women’s track and field/cross country teams. From August 2011-December 2012, he was a physical education/health teacher at Lake Park High School in Roselle, IL, where he was also an assistant football and wrestling coach in charge of the strength and conditioning programs for both sports.

Tony was a full-time strength and conditioning intern at Oregon State University from 2010-2011, working with the football, wrestling, baseball, and women’s swimming teams. He was also a lead instructor for the Sports Performance Camp, where he worked with athletes ranging in ages from 13 to 21 years old, teaching them the proper technique of Olympic weight lifting.

Tony hails from Carol Stream, IL, and is a graduate of North Central College, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education and Health Education with a minor in Secondary Education. Tony played football at North Central from 2006-2009, earning himself a special teams starting position and helping his team to the 2007 and 2008 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Football Championship. He earned his Master of Science degree in Sport Management from UConn in 2016.

Beginning this spring, Tony will host three speed and agility classes every Monday and Friday between 5-8 pm, and one class on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 am, through the end of May. The schedule will change for the summer months. Tony will be an incredibly vital resource for True Lacrosse players who want to get in peak physical condition to help in improving their skills on the field and to establish healthy habits for life.
